⚙️ Setup guide
✅ Installation
1. Requirements
- Browser: Google Chrome (latest version recommended)
- Video Platform: Works with Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls (via browser)
2. Install ReCo
- Go to the Chrome Web Store link.
- Click “Add to Chrome.”
- The ReCo icon will appear in your browser toolbar (puzzle piece icon in a top right corner) - pin it for easy access.
3. Sign Up
- Click the ReCo icon in your toolbar.
- Choose one of the two options:
- Continue with Google → quickest way (works as sign up).
- Click the small “Sign up” text button and type in the email & password you want to use for this account → useful if you prefer to create an account manually (e.g. with a non-Google email).
💡 NOTE: Typing your email in the login box won’t work if you don’t have an account yet - click Sign up first).
- Congratulations 🎉 — you’re now all ready to start using ReCo!
🟢 Turning ReCo On
To start transcribing with ReCo, follow these steps:
- Join a Google Meet call in your Chrome browser.
- Open ReCo from your Chrome extensions menu (puzzle piece icon in the top right of Chrome → click ReCo) - make sure you see both tabs (active Google Meet call and ReCo side by side in one window to ensure they're open via the same Chrome profile) - you can later separate them if needed
- In ReCo, click Start transcribing - that's it! 🥳
💡 NOTE: Open the Transcripttab in ReCo to make sure the conversation is being captured - if not see 'Transcript not showing up' section below
👉 From this moment, ReCo will capture the conversation in real time and let you generate a report based on a template or your own criteria, requirements, and questions. You can also use Chat with ReCo at any time (even without a transcript) for ReCo to e.g.:
- Suggest interview questions
- Assess candidate–role fit
- Draft outreach messages
- Create Boolean search strings
- and more

⚠️ Transcript not showing up
Problem
You clicked Start transcript, but nothing shows up.
Common Causes
- Google Meet and ReCo are running in different Chrome profiles
- The selected language in ReCo doesn’t match the language spoken
- Captions (CC) in Google Meet were never enabled during the first setup
- Permissions not granted
Solution(s)
- Make sure your Google Meet is open in the same Chrome profile as ReCo (e.g. private vs work Chrome profile) - easiest to ensure by opening both in one Chrome browser window.
- In a session view in ReCo select a language actually spoken in the meeting (top-right corner).
- In Google Meet, press C on your keyboard or click the CC (Closed Captions) button on a toolbar at the bottom to manually establish a connection.
- Refresh your Google Meet tab - Windows: Ctrl + R or F5 | Mac: Command (⌘) + R.
- Check permissions: Chrome → Extensions → Manage Extensions → ReCo → Details ensure “Automatically allow access on the following sites” is toggled ON.
🚧 Problem joining a meeting
Problem
You can't join a Google Meeting.
Common Causes

Solution

- Temporarily disable all other transcription extensions (e.g. Tactiq, Bluedot).
- Refresh your Google Meet tab – Windows: Ctrl + R or F5 | Mac: ⌘ + R – and try joining the meeting again.
🔧 General quick fixes
